Locality workers, teachers down tools over pay delay in Babanusa, West Kordofan

Administrative and education services have ground to a halt in Babanusa Locality in West Kordofan, after workers including teachers called an initial three-day strike on Tuesday to protest non-payment of their salaries for October.

One of the strikers told Radio Dabanga that the strike was carried out by all of the locality workers, including the basic and higher secondary school teachers. He said that the strike will last until Sunday at least.

He pointed out that they would then enter into an open strike afterwards if not they are not paid their salaries.
