LMJ-Karbino releases Sudanese army officer
The Sudan Liberation Movement for Justice, led by Ali Karbino (LMJ-K), has released a Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) lieutenant. The LMJ-K Spokesperson, Mohamed Ahmed Yagoub, told Radio Dabanga that on 12 November, Lt. Hafiz Ibrahim Eldukhri, who was captured during a battle at Amarjadeed, near Manawashi in South Darfur. Lt. Eldukhri returned to his family in Tawila, North Darfur. Yagoub said that the LMJ-K would soon release ten other prisoners, captured during a battle at Nimra, in East Jebel Marra. He stressed that the release of Lt. Eldukhri was based on LMJ basic principles and the Movement’s commitment to international conventions and humanitarian laws. The LMJ-K Spokesperson appealed to “all regular government forces to side with the Sudanese people instead of protecting and defending this Khartoum minority that has monopolised the country’s power and wealth. The Khartoum regime is the cause of many, many deaths as well as the displacement of even more Sudanese. It is ready to annihilate the remainder of the Sudanese population in order to stay in power”.
