LJM military wing ask Sissi for more representation
The military leadership of the Liberation and Justice Movement (LJM) led by Tijani Sissi, sent a memorandum to the leader asking for more representation at all levels of Sudan’s administration. Spokesman for the LJM, Ahmed Fadel told Radio Dabanga that the military leaders sent a memorandum to Sissi, relating to the wing’s lack of representation in Sudan’s state, ministerial, federal and regional authority bodies, but denied the action was in protest.Tijani Sissi is the head of the Darfur Regional Authority, a body established as part of the Doha peace agreement, signed between the Khartoum government and the LJM last year. The spokesman said the government tended to play down the number of LJM troops, whereas the actual number neared 4,000 fighters. Fadel added that a joint committee composed of UN/African Union Mission In Darfur staff, government representatives and LJM members will be assessing the number of LJM troops on the ground, this coming Saturday.
