Land distributions halted in S. Darfur town

The process of distributing residential plots in the area of Um Gesha in Rehed Al Berdi district in South Darfur for 2010 has stopped. One of the applicants for plots told Radio Dabanga that the process of distributing plots has stopped due to lack of a supervisor for the plots and a physical engineer. The applicant pointed out that they were surprised that authorities were demanding them to pay new fees to get plots despite the fact that they have already paid the fees, including the fees for plots which is 280 pounds. He called on the minister of physical infrastructure of the state to intervene to solve the problem.
