Kebkabiya wants security for gold seekers
The head of the civil administration for Kebkabiya in North Darfur has called on locality authorities to protect gold mines in the area. The head told Radio Dabanga that the civil adminstration met yesterday to discuss the prospect of an escalation of violence in the region by looters that came to the region, following the discovery of gold in the western region of Kebkabiya. They also talked about how to protect national and international gold seekers in the area that arrive in large numbers. He said they decided to submit a memorandum to the authorities to ask them to protect citizens in the area and those that look for gold. They also asked for them to provide them with necessary water and health services.
