Kassab camp suffering from lack of water services

The displaced residents of Kassab camp, North Darfur are continuing to suffer from a lack of water facilities, since a national organization left the area in December, last year. A leader of the camp said to Radio Dabanga the people that service the water pumps have not been paid their salaries, and organizations providing water services are facing difficulties in relation to funding from donors. As a result, he said women and children were caught up in long queues for water waiting for hours into the night, as options to collect water were severly limited. He appealed to humanitarian organizations and local authorities to play their roles in overseeing the provision of water services to the camp.
