JEM rebels say there is a conspiracy to bury the Darfur issue

The Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) said that there is a conspiracy by several parties to bury the issue of Darfur and to kill the issue in the Doha forum. JEM is under diplomatic and military pressure to negotiate with the government of Sudan. The movement had announced on 3 May that it was withdrawing from the peace talks. The group said in a statement issued on Sunday that there is an attempt to prevent the arrival of the head of movement to the field. Khalil Ibrahim, chairman of the rebel group, last week was denied entry to Chad. He was seeking to return to his troops in Darfur. The statement praised the leader of Libya, Muammar Gaddafi, for agreeing to host Khalil Ibrahim. The Darfuri rebel movement called on Libyan authorities not be driven by attempts to bury the issue of Darfur. JEM spokesman Ahmed Hussein Adam commented on the written statement in an interview with Radio Dabanga.
