JEM calls on Darfurians to boycott registration, SLM for participation
The JEM of Khalil Ibrahim called on the people of Darfur to boycott the voter registration and the elections. He affirmed that his movement is against the election unless comprehension peace is achieved in the region. Khalil said in the program ‘Frankly Speaking’ on Radio Dabanga which will be announced this evening that the aim of the election is to reelect President Omer Al Basher and to protect him from trial before the International Criminal Court.

The Sudan Liberation Movement of Minni Minawi urged the people in Sudan and Darfur to go to the voter registration centers. Omer Mohamed Ibrahim, the secretary general of the Sudan Liberation Movement in South Darfur called on the people of Darfur with this message. Minni Minawi signed the Abuja peace agreement with the government and is at this moment part of the central government.
