Intensified air raids on towns in Sudan’s Nuba Mountains
The Sudanese Air Force has reportedly intensified its air attacks on civilian targets in the town of Kauda and surrounding areas over the past few days. Arno Ngutulu Lodi, official spokesman of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement – North (SPLM-N) told Radio Dabanga that over the last three days, more than 53 bombs were dropped into residential areas, schools, hospitals, and farms. On Tuesday, an Antonov dropped eight bombs on Kauda, damaging several buildings. On Wednesday, an Antonov plane bombed twice, dropping 24 bombs. It was followed at 5pm by a Sukhoi, which dropped seven bombs near to a rural hospital. Three of the bombs failed to detonate, however one man and two children were wounded and four houses were destroyed.
