IDPs need assistance in South Darfur
A group of 1,500 internally displaced people (IDPs) have been struggling in harsh conditions with no humanitarian support from local or international organizations, said a witness in El Daein locality to Radio Dabanga. In September the IDPs were expelled from their villages of Karoya Lubn, Usban, Um Kirkuk and Kayluk in North Darfur. Local militia looted their livestock, burned down houses and destroyed their agricultural produce. Tribal leaders in El Daein decided to host them, but are struggling to support the number of people with food as well as shelter. Speaking to Radio Dabanga, the leader of the displaced group appealed to humanitarian organizations and the United Nations, to provide them with the assisance they require.
