IDP’s in North Darfur camps refuse registration for elections
Peace and security must first be obtained before the IDP’s of North Darfur want to register and participate in the election process. The displaced people at Shadad camp in Shangel Tobayi, Al Salaam camp and Abu Shok camp in Fasher expressed their rejection to the ongoing voter registrations. A leader at Shadad camp disclosed this to radio Dabanga.

On his part, a leader at Al Salaam camp in Al Fasher affirmed their rejection to the voter registration. He said that they as displaced people are not concerned with the elections. He indicated that security is the most urgent for them. This means disarment of the Janjaweed and peace on the ground.
