Hospital guards disperse militia following North Darfur shooting
An inhabitant of the city of Kabkabiya in North Darfur is said to be seriously injured after militiamen invaded his house and shot him on Tuesday. Witnesses told Radio Dabanga that following the shooting, the victim, Atef Adam Yaqoub (37), was transferred to hospital in Kabkabiya. “The gunmen followed Yaqoub to the hospital, intent on killing him, but regular troops guarding the hospital drove them off by firing into the air. This caused panic among residents, who fled to their homes.” The witness demanded an end to violations by pro-government militias and called for the perpetrators to be brought to justice.
