Herders request vaccines for sick cattle in White Nile

Cattle herders in White Nile reported the spread of diseases among cows and sheep, cowpox in particular.

The herders demanded from the Ministry of Livestock and local authorities to speed-up to contain the disease.

Speaking to Radio Dabanga, a herder said: “The undersecretary of the Ministry told us that the Ministry has a supply of vaccines with a small dose against the disease among the sheep, but does not possess large doses of cowpox vaccines.”

He said that the diseases appeared three weeks ago among a herd of livestock animals in White Nile.
