Grenade blast ‘kills 1 and injures 7’ in South Darfur’s capital
The explosion of a hand grenade at a livestock market in Nyala, South Darfur, on Sunday has left one man killed and seven others injured.According to sources, an Abbala militant, an alleged drug dealer, threw a hand grenade when he was chased by a member of an anti-drug squad at Nyala’s livestock market. Following the incident, the market was shut down for some time. Witnesses claim that at least 13 people were injured by the grenade, including the anti-drug squad member.A witness recounted to Radio Dabanga that the injured victims, among them four severely wounded, were taken to a hospital for treatment.File photo
