Government ‘should not gloat’ over JEM leader’s death
The Popular Association for Dialogue and Reconciliation in Darfur has sharply criticized the government for gloating over the assassination of the Justice and Equality Movement’s leader Khalil Ibrahim. The Association described the killing as a big loss for the peace process. The head of the Association, Mohammed Issa Elayo told Radio Dabanga that some government agencies want to divide people in Sudan. Khalil Ibrahim was a Muslim, and he hoped the gloating over the killing would not become a habit, as it is not common to Islam or the Sudanese culture.
