Girl, young women gang-raped in East Jebel Marra, North Darfur
A basic school student of Rwanda camp for the displaced in Tawila locality, North Darfur, was raped by six men on Sunday. In East Jebel Marra, members of a government militia gang raped three young firewood collectors on Monday.
The coordinator of the Tawila camps, Omda Mukhtar Bosh, reported to Radio Dabanga that “six Janjaweed riding on camels” ambushed a group of young women and girls of the Rwanda camp, while they were collecting firewood west of Tawila town.

The coordinator of the Tawila camps, Omda Mukhtar Bosh, reported to Radio Dabanga that “six Janjaweed riding on camels” ambushed a group of young women and girls of the Rwanda camp, while they were collecting firewood west of Tawila town.
“They seized a basic school pupil, and raped her alternately for four hours,” he said, adding that the victim was transferred to a hospital in El Fasher, capital of North Darfur “in critical condition”.
Bosh added that the pupil was transferred to El Fasher in a difficult condition for treatment.
East Jebel Marra
Members of the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) raped three young women in the area north of Katur.
A relative of one of the victims told Radio Dabanga that the women, on their way to collect firewood in a nearby valley, were intercepted by a group of RSF militiamen in three vehicles.
“Five men jumped from the vehicles, and repeatedly raped all three,” she said.
