Generator donated by Unamid stolen in North Darfur
A member of the native administration in the locality of Birkat Seira, North Darfur, has allegedly stolen the only electricity generator in the area. The generator was donated by Unamid and intended for use by the residents of the Saraf Omra region. Residents from Birkat Seira told Radio Dabanga that they were surprised when a trader calling himself Hamdo loaded the generator onto his car on Saturday. When challenged, the trader explained that he had bought the generator from an Omda named Abakar Mohamed Ahmadi. The citizens appealed to the local authorities to intervene and return the generator “donated to the people of the region”.
