Gang-rape, armed robbery near Tabit, North Darfur
A woman was gang-raped near Tabit in North Darfur’s Tawila locality today. On Saturday, militiamen wearing military uniforms shot and robbed a group of camel herders in the area.
The woman (25) was working on her farm in the area of Jabayen, west of Tabit, when a group of janjaweed attacked her, another farmer told Radio Dabanga.
“They beat her badly before they raped her alternately,” he said.
The source added that on Saturday morning militiamen wearing military uniforms and riding on camels ambushed a group of camel herders.
“They fired at the herders. One of them, Mahjoub Ibrahim Saleh sustained serious injuries and had to be taken to El Fasher Teaching Hospital for treatment,” he reported. “The militiamen stole all their 48 camels.”
