“After the second militia attack on herders in the area north of Tabit on Monday, we went out to see if we could help,” a livestock owner told Radio Dabanga from Tabit.

On Monday, group of gunmen, believed to belong to the militia of Badur Abu Kineish, arrived at the area in seven vehicles, and stole 2,000 head of cattle and 2,00 sheep and goats at gunpoint.
Army troops of the Tawila military garrison were able to recover the livestock, after a fierce clash north of Tabit in which seven militiamen were killed.
In the afternoon, the gunmen launched another attack on herders in the area, but this time the army did not intervene.
