Five villages plundered in North Darfur’s Kutum
Groups of militiamen pillaged five villages north of Disa in Kutum locality last week.
Fleeing villagers told Radio Dabanga that militiamen in a number of Land Cruisers and others riding camels stormed Tori, Gori, Hilla Jadeeda, Arida, and Um Shijera on Wednesday.
“While firing into the air, they plundered our houses and shops, and robbed us of dozens of cows,” a villager reported.
“They returned on Thursday, and stole the rest of our belongings. Most of the people fled into the wilderness.”
