Five Sudanese nationals who were deported from Switzerland for entering the country illegally, arrived in Khartoum on Tuesday and were received by Sudanese authorities.
The official Sudan News Agency (SUNA) reports that Hassan Mahmoud Mohamed Hassan, Ali Adam Ahmed, Yagoub Mohamed Ahmed, Ibrahim Arbab, and Ahmed Mahmoud Ibrahim arrived on board a Turkish aircraft of Sun Express.
The deportees were received at Khartoum Airport by the committee for the inventory and statistics of returnees and the director of the department of labour and return Issues in the organisation of the Sudanese affairs abroad Sabir Abdallah Awad.
The deportees were part of a batch of six, which also included an Egyptian national who was handed-over to authorities at Cairo airport.
A hardening of attitudes to immigration across Europe has resulted in several countries deporting Sudanese nationals recently.
