Five lawyers released on the condition they report to security services on Wednesday

The head of the Darfur Bar Association, Mohammed Abdullah Al Duma, and four other lawyers were arrested on Sunday after holding a press conference. The press conference was on the release of Dr. Bushra Gamar who had been imprisoned by security forces for a year.

The head of the Darfur Bar Association, Mohammed Abdullah Al Duma, and four other lawyers were arrested on Sunday after holding a press conference. The press conference was on the release of Dr. Bushra Gamar who had been imprisoned by security forces for a year. The other arrested lawyers include: Gibril Hamid Hassabu and two female lawyers Rehab Assadiq Sharif, Rashida Al Ansari from Darfur. The name of the fourth lawyer can not independently be verified.

The security forces gave the five lawyers permission to leave on Sunday evening, on the condition they would return the next morning. They were detained on Monday but allowed to leave late in the afternoon. They have to report to the security forces this Wednesday.
