Five drown in West Kordofan floods
Torrential rains and ensuing floods resulted in the death of five people in En Nahud locality in West Kordofan on Wednesday.
Speaking to Radio Dabanga, an eyewitness reported that they drowned on Thursday.
“The driver of a vehicle carrying his family tried to cross a waterway after the heavy rains flooded it on Wednesday,” he said. “But the flood carried away the vehicle, and they disappeared.”
A rescue team managed to recover four bodies in a distant place. The body of the fifth victim, a woman, was still not found by Friday afternoon.
