Explosion inside house kills five in North Darfur
The explosion of a missile inside a house led to the deaths of five students in El Taweisha town, North Darfur, on Thursday. Four other students sustained injuries when the missile exploded, according to the locality Governor, Mohamed Osman. He explained to Radio Dabanga that the nine students of a higher secondary school rented a house in El Salam district in El Taweisha. They came from Tawm Bisharah and Um Jaribeda. On Thursday, they found a missile inside the house, which exploded when they tried to pick it up. The Governor reported that the five killed students are Mohamed Suleiman Bishara, El Zubair Adam Mohamed, Mohamed Harun Mohamed, Nasr El Din Abdallah, and Mohamed Suleiman Adam. The four injured others currently receive treatment for their wounds in the town’s hospital. Their names are Khaled Def and Farah Abdel Rahman, and the two brothers Abdel Azim Abdel Qadir and Abureira Abdel Gadir. In March this year, armed rebel groups fought with government forces for the control of villages in North Darfur localities, including El Taweisha. They attacked the military garrison in this locality, and claimed killing 48 soldiers on 5 March. The missile inside the rental house that exploded and killed the five students, may be a remnant of this war.
