DRA to hold IDP conference end of March
The Darfur Regional Authority will hold the conference for displaced people at the end of March in Nyala with 700 representatives from across Darfur. The 700 will represent displaced people and refugees, political parties, native administrations as well as officials from federal and state government. Minister of reconstruction and development Taj Al Din Bashir told Radio Dabanga that UN Security Council, African Union and Arab League delegates will also attend. He added he hopes ‘the conference will provide full opportunity for Darfuri people to express their views and ideas freely and transparently, to contribute to advancing peace and stability in Darfur.’
