DRA member, water engineers ‘missing’ on North Darfur roads

A member of the Darfur Regional Authority, Yahya Hassan Neil, along with two engineers of the Ministry of Irrigation, is missing in North Darfur. It is presumed they have been kidnapped by bandits.

Neil and the engineers were reported to be on a mission concerning water projects in North Darfur, but there has been no contact with them since Friday.

Road robbery

On Monday, militiamen hijacked a commercial vehicle in Kutum locality in North Darfur.

One of the passengers told to Radio Dabanga that two militants riding a motorcycle intercepted the vehicle, owned by Yousif Adam Suleiman, on its way from Furoug in Kutum. They forced the passengers to disembark at gunpoint.
