Doctors attacked during surgery in West Darfur
Two specialist doctors in El Geneina hospital, West Darfur, were beaten by the relative of a patient during surgery on Wednesday. A doctor told Radio Dabanga that the 5-year-old patient from Foro Baranga suffered from a broken leg. During her surgery, it turned out that there was not enough oxygen and blood to continue, and the doctors were forced to transfer the patient to an outpatient clinic. This sparked anger with the father, who assaulted two doctors. The doctor speaking to Radio Dabanga held the West Darfur Health Ministry responsible for the deterioration of the health services, the lack of life-saving medicines, and the shortage of blood.
