Death toll reaches nine for El Fasher protest
The death toll of the shootings that occurred 2 May in El Fasher rose to nine people yesterday when Ahmed Jama’a Dari died from gunshot wounds in the El Fasher hospital. The deadly gunfire took place during demonstrations over the Mawasir Market scam. A witness said that a bullet was lodged in the man’s body. The others killed or mortally wounded in the demonstration, according to hospital records, were Hamada Adam Harega (age 15), Khalid Jumma Ahmed (16), Al-Rashid Ismail Ali (22), Hamdi Adam Hareer (23), Mohammed Abdullah (19), Khalid Mustafa (31), Manahil Ahmed (18) and Raman Khalil Tirab (18).
