Darfuri student killed, three injured in Karima clashes

The university administration suspended of classes for indefinite period on Thursday morning, and the students housing trust fund cleared the dormitories of students. Police detained dozens of students.
One of the students told Radio Dabanga that Jaafar Adam of El Malha in North Darfur was hit on the head during a fight between students at a basketball game on Wednesday evening. He died while being rushed to hospital. Adam was buried at the tombs of Burri in Khartoum on Thursday morning.
The student explained that “the incident led to widespread clashes between Darfuri and Dongola students using bricks and metal bars which resulted in the injury of three others.
He told Radio Dabanga that the students demanded the authorities immediately arrest the culprits and take them to trial.
On Thursday morning the students of the Faculty of Earth Sciences and Mining at the University of Dongola in Wadi Halfa staged demonstrations condemning the policies of the students housing trust fund.
