The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) reportedly launched air strikes on several locations in Nyala, capital of South Darfur, and El Geneina, capital of West Darfur, on Saturday evening and Sunday morning. Some social media users posted videos showing the extent of the destruction caused by the airstrikes in both cities.

In El Geneina, the airstrikes targeted the El Naseem neighbourhood, which killed and injured civilians and livestock. No official casualty list or death toll has been released yet.

In Nyala, the airstrikes targeted Nyala Customs, the gas storage facilities of Aman Gas Company, the customs headquarters, and the maternity hospital.

The capital of South Darfur has recently seen more violence due to its strategic positioning for the belligerents, marking the city essential and under constant battles. The capital of West Darfur fell to the RSF in November last year.
