Darfur’s southern tribes sign honor agreement in presence of governor

Six tribes from Girayda, Tulus and Dito localities in the state of South Darfur signed an honor agreement for peaceful coexistence in the presence of Dr. Abdul Hamid Musa Kasha.

Six tribes from Girayda, Tulus and Dito localities in the state of South Darfur signed an honor agreement for peaceful coexistence in the presence of Dr. Abdul Hamid Musa Kasha. The agreement aims to re-establish normal relations among the tribes after over 20 years of broken ties. Kasha stated publically that the state government has approved the formation of an administrative unit for Sadoon that will be under the ministry of local government, as well as two rural courts in Sadoon. According to parliament member of Khaled Ali Harun, representing constituency number fifteen, Shergeila, the agreement was signed between the Fallata, Masalit, Misseriya, Bego, Mahadiya and Rezeigat tribes. He said it will end the differences that were going on between them for years and that paths and roads will be opened. He also stated that the tribes which signed the agreement pledged to stop fighting and control all the outlaws, and seek shared peace.
