Darfur’s Kalma camp leaders in dispute with NGOs over food rations

There has been dispute in South Darfur’s largest displaced camp, Kalma, between the sheikhs of the camp and the humanitarian organizations that provide food. A sheikh of the displaced people said that the NGOs reduced the rations from 9 kilograms to 6 kilograms per family, beginning next month. The sheikh said the organizations threaten to stop the distribution altogether. He added that 6 kilograms is not enough and added that the humanitarian organizations did not give any reasons for the reduction. In addition, a large number of displaced people do not have ration cards, he said in an interview with Radio Dabanga.
