Darfur Displaced and Refugees Association supports “Leave!” campaign

The Darfur Displaced and Refugees Association has expressed its support for the “Leave!” campaign launched by the Sudanese opposition parties last week.

“On behalf of the more than three million Darfuri displaced and refugees, the Association declares its solidarity with the campaign,” spokesman Hussein Abu Sharati told Dabanga from Kalma camp in South Darfur.

“We all support the call to boycott the upcoming elections, which will only prolong the suffering of the Darfuri displaced and refugees. The dire humanitarian situation makes it an imperative to join the campaign.”

Abu Sharati called upon all political forces to join the campaign, and act to prevent the start of the elections on 13 April.
