In a statement on Friday, the Association points to the detention of Omda Mukhtar Ishag Abakar from Dubo El Omda in the north-eastern part of Jebel Marra, in Tawila locality, without providing a reason.
Abakar was transferred to El Fasher, capital of North Darfur, and from there to Kober Prison in Khartoum North. His relatives have not been allowed to visit him, and fear for his health.
The Association notes “the great gab” in the administration of the villages of Dubo El Omda caused by the disappearance of Abakar, and appeals to human rights organisations to pressure the government to release him.
