Dams rehabilitation to resume
The commissioner of the Tine locality in North Darfur announced that the next phase of the rehabilitation of the Bassau and Sasa dams will resume in the coming days. Speaking to Radio Dabanga on Thursday, 11 October, the commissioner Jafar Bishara Ibrahim said the rehabilitation will cost more than four million Sudanese pounds. Ibrahim explained the reservoir rehabilitation is part of efforts of the locality and of the state government’s efforts to provide drinking water for people and animals. Brick factory The commissioner added a brick factory will be established in the area, which is expected to produce one million bricks. The bricks, he pointed out, will be used for the construction of service institutions in the cities of Tine, Tundubai and Bassau. Additionally, Ibrahim announced the establishment of the headquarters of the Sudani telecommunication station and the opening of a commercial bank. The latter is a contribution from the chairmanship of the locality, he added.
