Curfew announced, schools and offices closed in El Malha, North Darfur

Authorities of El Malha locality in North Darfur imposed on Sunday evening a curfew in the whole locality until next Tuesday following last week’s unrests in the area. A witness told Radio Dabanga that authorities made the curfew announcement with loudspeakers, noting until it will last until Monday 12am, and then again between 2pm and 8am on Tuesday. In addition to the curfew, basic and secondary schools will be closed for an indefinite period of time. Government offices and market have also reportedly shut its doors. Transportation within the locality has been halted completely. Security forces prevented the people from visiting their relatives in the hospitals and the detainees in the security services’ prisons, the witness said.
