Crop traders strike in Nyala
Crop traders in Nyala, South Darfur have entered into an open-ended strike a source told Radio Dabanga.The local finance ministry issued state laws to increase fees on crops from 3 Sudanese pounds to 7.5 per crop yield, an increase of 4 pounds for ‘development fees’. Mohammed Najeeb the head of the traders union said that traders, commercial lorry drivers and farmers are affected by this increase and suffering large losses as they are being forced to compete with markets in other states as well as Khartoum.
