Convoy attacked in North Darfur’s Kutum
On Sunday, gunmen plundered five vehicles in North Darfur’s Kutum locality.
The driver of one of the vehicles reported that a group of heavily armed men in a Land Cruiser mounted with a Dushka machinegun ambushed a convoy near Kutum town.
The convoy consisted of 20 commercial and private vehicles coming from the northern and western parts of the locality. “15 vehicles managed to escape,” he told Radio Dabanga.
“The seven militiamen then stole all the belongings of the passengers, mostly students, in addition to SDG5,000 (about $800) from trader Adam Hamid.”
