‘Consultative dialogue’ to start in South Darfur’s Katila
On Tuesday, about 150 community leaders and members in Katila locality in South Darfur will begin an internal consultative Darfuri dialogue.
Mohamed Ahmed Haroun, Deputy Head of the Darfur Dialogue Mechanism, told reporters in the state capital Nyala that 10 of the 21 South Darfur localities have held an internal consultative Darfuri dialogue already.

Mohamed Ahmed Haroun, Deputy Head of the Darfur Dialogue Mechanism, told reporters in the state capital Nyala that 10 of the 21 South Darfur localities have held an internal consultative Darfuri dialogue already.
“The participants of most of the conferences highlighted the rampant insecurity in all its forms,” he said. “They denounced the increased tribalism in the region, and recommended disarmament of all, except the regular forces.”
Haroun said that the opening ceremony of the dialogue conference in Katila will be addressed by First Vice-President Bakri Hassan Saleh.
