Clashes kill three JEM soldiers in East Darfur
Clashes took place on Saturday between Justice and Equality Movement soldiers and a group of armed citizens killing three JEM soldiers in the Bahr al Arab locality of the newly formed East Darfur state. Commissioner of Bahr al Arab, Adaef Issa Ilayu said the armed group managed to take control of JEM’s vehicles, destroying one and killing three fighters. Ilayu said two of armed men were also injured. He said the attacks occured as a response to repeated violations by JEM in the area. The spokesman said the SRF have completed preparations to enter Khartoum, and call on citizens not to involve themselves in local clashes, which may block or delay the SRF’s preparations.
