Christian priest detained in Sudanese capital
On Monday, officers of the National Intelligence and Security Service (NISS) detained the head of Sudan Church of Christ in Omdurman, the western twin-sister of Khartoum.
El Amel Organisation reported in a statement on Wednesday that Rev. Ayoub Tilyat Koko was held in his office at the Sudan Church of Christ complex in El Arda district, west of El Merrikh Foorball Stadium in Omdurman on Monday.
The security officers did not provide a reason and refused to say where they were taking him.
El Amel holds the authorities responsible for the clergyman’s safety, and called for the immediate release of the priest, or, in case he is charged, to bring him to justice in a fair court procedure.
