Cholera still spreading in Sudan’s El Gedaref

A medical source told Radio Dabanga that the isolation centre for the disease in the Shueib area of El Gireisha locality received five new cases on Thursday to add to seven cases that entered the centre on Wednesday.
The health source revealed that El Saraf El Ahmar area of East Gallabat locality isolation centre received two new cases on Thursday, while two old cases remaining inside the centre have not yet been discharged.
29 people were reported infected with cholera in different parts of El Gedaref state on Wednesday and Tuesday.
New cases
On Wednesday a health source from Shueib area told Dabanga Radio that the area received seven cases on Wednesday and other three cases on Tuesday, while seven old cases have remained in the centre from Friday to Monday.
In East and West El Gallabat localities, the health source announced the isolation centre’s in the area of the El Mahal reception of seven new cases on Tuesday.
He said that on Wednesday Sabouni centre received five new cases, while the El Hamra East El Gallabat locality, three new cases.
He explained that yesterday El Saraf El Ahmar area recorded four new cases.
An employee pointed to both localities’ reception of 20 old cases, 18 of them in El Mahala.
