Chadian authorities arrest 9 Darfuri from Goz Amir Camp

Sudanese refugees in Chad told Radio Dabanga yesterday that the Chadian authorities arrested nine refugees belonging to Goz Amir camp. The authorities later released four of those including the omda of the camp, Ahmed War. A source in the camp explained that the reason given for the detention was that the refugees were forming links with organizations without the approval of the Chadian authorities. A representative of the Chadian police responsible for protecting refugees said that the detaines were taken yesterday morning by helicopter to an unknown destination, according to refugee sources. The refugees appealed to Chadian authorities for their immediate release and said that they did not commit any act contrary to law.
