Central Darfur staff salaries used for visit Governor

Government employees at Um Dukhun locality, Central Darfur, have not received their salaries for the month of June. The payment of their salary bonuses from January until June has been delayed as well. Speaking to Radio Dabanga, one of the employees said that the authorities had informed them that the delay in payment of their salaries was caused by the visit of the Governor of Central Darfur, Jaafar Abdel Hakam, to the locality. The ceremonies have consumed all the funds in the locality’s treasury. The employee appealed to the authorities of Um Dukhun locality and Central Darfur State to accelerate the payment of their salaries, “especially as Eid El Fitr (the feast at the end of Ramadan) is approaching”.
