Central Darfur fuel trader, wife shot and robbed
A merchant and his wife were seriously injured in an attack by militiamen in Kuteiri village, east of Abata in Central Darfur, an eyewitness reported to Radio Dabanga. Four “government-backed gunmen” on two motorcycles on Sunday evening stormed the house of Abakar Adam Hassan, a fuel trader. They fired at him and his wife, hitting both in the chest, before they robbed them of four jerry cans of petrol and fled. Hassan and his wife were taken in critical condition to Nyala hospital for treatment. The incident was reported to the police who did not prosecute the perpetrators, the witness said. File photo
