Central Darfur camps saw 17 rape cases in Ramadan: displaced
Sheikhs from Nertiti camps in Central Darfur handed over a report to the Unamid police on Friday stating that during Ramadan they counted 17 cases of rape in the area.During the meeting with Unamid, sheikhs told Radio Dabanga they discussed the issue of rapes and violence against women carried out by pro-government militias during the holy month of Ramadan, stressing such abuses are still on-going.The sheikhs demanded Unamid to protect the displaced, and especially the women.
