Bus strike threat in Sudan’s capital
Members of the Travel Buses Union operating from El Mina El Barri bus station in Khartoum have threatened to go on strike because of the rise in entry fees to the bus station from SDG1.5 to SDG3 ($0.52). Travellers have expressed their discontent of the doubling of the fees, Sudanese newspapers wrote. “The few services provided by the management of El Mina El Barri do not justify the fee increase.” Esam Abbas, the head of the Travel Buses Union, has demanded the abolition of the entry fees.
