Bomb kills two minors; air raids on Darfur’s Jebel Marra

Two minors were killed on Tuesday in a bomb explosion on the Konjara-Kushena road in East Jebel Marra. The Sudanese Air Force bombed areas east and west of Jebel Marra on Sunday night. Speaking to Radio Dabanga, a villager in East Jebel Marra reported that on Tuesday morning, he and his neighbours heard “a huge boom”. After running to the scene, which took 15 minutes,  they found the remains of Hawa Adam Nur (12) and Babakar Ibrahim Eisa (15), four dead sheep, and remnants of the bomb. The source noted that eight days before the explosion, a military convoy, on its way from Khazan Tunjur to El Fasher, had set up quarters at exactly the same spot. Aerial bombardments Other sources confirmed that the areas of Dirbat, Jawa and Suny, west of Jebel Marra, and of Fanga, east of Jebel Marra, witnessed heavy aerial bombardments by the Sudanese Air Force on Sunday night. Water wells in Suny were destroyed and a number of livestock killed. The intensive bombardments killed a number of cattle in the area of Fanga, and set fire to vast tracts of farmland and pasture areas.
