Authorities in North Darfur prevented citizens from attending the campaign launch of Yasir Arman, the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) presidential candidate, yesterday. A journalist who accompanied the SPLM to Darfur told Radio Dabanga that she was informed by citizens that authorities prohibited them from attending the meeting in the Mereigha stadium in El Fasher. Authorities placed armoured vehicles alongside the main streets of the city.
