Armed robbery for mobile phone in Foro Baranga, Darfur

Three armed gunmen in civilian clothes halted a man in western Darfur yesterday. Mohamed Abdelrahman Ibrahim, age 18, was coming from his shop in his neighborhood of Al Salaam in Foro Baranga.

The gunmen asked him for his mobile phone. When he did not respond to them they fired at him, breaking his leg, and then took a mobile phone. He was transferred to the hospital at Foro Baranga for treatment. Sources said that he is now in good condition. There has been rampant theft of mobile phones in recent days in Foro Baranga Locality in western Darfur. The remote area was connected to the Sudani mobile network just three months ago.
